Jeff
Hornick is the founder and owner of Game Day Events.
He is a diehard sports fan who grew up in upstate
New York following the Yankees since he was a boy. He attended
College in Lake Placid , New York where he worked and saw
many of the events held during the 1980 Winter Olympic Games.
At Lake Placid he witnessed first hand what is now known as
one of the greatest upsets in sports history: the “Miracle
on Ice” US/Russia hockey game.
Planning pre-game tailgates and parties really
began when he attended UNLV during the playing days of Randall
Cunningham and the glory days of the Runnin Rebels and Jerry
Tarkanian. He personally knew Tark the Shark and even earned
his praise in the local papers for creating UNLV’s first
student cheering section ever. After moving to Southern California
Jeff soon became a Padres and Chargers fan and began organizing
tailgate parties for friends and fun. His infamous Luau “Bubbles”
Party in 1995 made ESPN pre-show highlights.
After doing tailgate parties as a casual hobby
he decided to
take the business to a professional level by
starting
Game Day Events in 2001. Events
over the years have included Day at the Races in Del Mar,
Amtrak trips to Anaheim for Rams and Angels games, tailgate
parties at the Rosebowl and of course tailgate events for
the Padres, Chargers and Holiday Bowl! Game Day’s member
list continues to grow (over 1,000 members) strictly by word
of mouth and due to the fact that Jeff has earned the reputation
for throwing a great tailgate event! |
